Join us for a morning of family-friendly discovery and exploration along the Merced River Trail. The new year is an amazing time to get outdoors and connect with the river in our backyard. Join Watershed Director Kristina Rylands and Watershed Project Coordinator Gigi Knowlton for an easy walk along the former railroad grade. Meet at the Briceburg parking lot. This is a FREE event.
For communication purposes, registration is highly recommended HERE.
Be prepared to bring: hiking shoes, water (at least one liter), sunscreen, lunch/snacks, head covering, layers, including waterproof gear, and sunglasses.
DISCOVERY and exploration encouraged! Feel free to bring a camera, binoculars, or journal. Watercolors will be provided.
Final hike details will be sent 1-2 days prior to the event.
There are vault toilets at the parking area.
NOTES: Please meet at the Briceburg parking lot at the Merced River Recreation Area. An Upper Merced River Watershed Council representative will be waiting to greet you and sign you in, then the group will walk over the Briceburg bridge and head down the Merced River Trail.
Well-behaved dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash at all times.
This walk is RAIN or SHINE – the Upper Merced River Watershed Council regards the safety of our participants very highly so in the case of severe weather or the possibility of adverse impact on the hike experience we reserve the right to cancel.
